one2one™ is LVCT-Health’s peer led (for-youth, by-youth, with-youth) innovative & evidence based programme offering comprehensive quality sexual and reproductive health direct services & literacy to over one million adolescents & youth (10-24 years) in Kenya annually.
one2one utilises a complimentary mix of multi-media approaches that include digital platforms, direct health and HIV service delivery, training, capacity building and policy advocacy, within LVCT’s research-Policy-Practice framework to achieve the following objectives:
- Provide young people with credible/accurate information on HIV/AIDS, Sexuality, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights
- Provide young people with quality HIV and SRH services and appropriate referrals
- Create a forum for open discussion through which teens and youth can explore HIV/AIDS concerns, sexuality & reproductive health options and make informed choices
- Build youth capacity and engage in advocacy to increase participation of youth HIV and health policy and programme planning, prioritisation and implementation processes.
Every month, the one2one Integrated Digital Platform as is shown in the figure alongside reaches:
- More than 13,000 monthly callers on the one2one 1190 hotline
- More than 20000 impressions from conversations and chats with followers, funs and friends on Facebook
- More than 20000 impressions on Twitter interactions, mentions and retweets
- Girl targeted IEC print material
- Regular Question & Answer (Q&A) on email
- An interactive one2one youth website with a chat function- weekly and other regular shows in youth targeted radio stations
- More than 1000000 teens through the question and answer columns in the Insyder Youth Magazine's GurlTalk and BoyTalk colmuns
