Warning signs of dating violence

There are many ways of identifying or recognizing dating violence. 

A person abusing their partner may do the following:

• Demand to see calls, texts, and/or emails with or without permission
• Control their partner when it comes to who they talk to and who they spend time with
• Limit where their partner can go and when
• Tell their partner what they can and can’t do
• Constantly check in on their partner repeatedly 
• Threaten to hurt their partner if they try to leave
• Act jealous and/or get angry for no reason
• Restrict their partner access to things they need
• Spread bad rumors about their partner on social media
• Harass or humiliate their partner on social media
• Share or threaten to share their partner’s nudes or sexual images without consent
• Blame their partner for the abusive behavior.
