“I started considering getting back into the dating scene."

Hello guys, I'm Kylian aged 21 years and I want to share my story on how a condom burst without me knowing. I did not have a “long” experience in the dating scene "soko" and had only had one girlfriend with whom we had broken up 1 year ago. I had stayed long enough without someone so I started considering getting back into the dating scene.

She caught my attention

I met Jackie during a certain event that I had been invited to by my friend in Westlands and she immediately caught my attention. I approached her and there was instant chemistry between the both of us. We continued speaking and at some point, I was pleasantly surprised at how well this conversation was going, I liked her. We even managed to exchange phone numbers afterwards.

More Chemistry

After a few weeks of chatting, we discussed our past relationships and that’s when I found out that just like me, she became single in the past year and was now considering seeing someone again. We were honest about the fact we would appreciate a physical relationship to complement the emotional connection that we had. This, I must admit, made me very happy. We then planned on having a sleepover at my house soon.

Consent

A week after the exciting conversation, we agreed that she would come over that weekend. We ordered some food when and played Scrabble and then settled into the couch to watch a movie. We started to kiss and get more intimate and at this point I asked whether it was okay to go on and she consented. We moved to the bedroom where we had sex.

Ready with protection

I had purchased a pack of condoms from the pharmacist during the day just in case the night would go the way I was dreaming it would. I put on one after a couple of minutes of foreplay and the game began. Round one was extremely fast owing to the fact that I had stayed long without sex and therefore I had to change it and put on a second condom. Deep into it, I heard a pop sound that wasn't high enough so I ignored it and carried on.

Consequences

I only came to realise it when I was done that the popping sound I had heard was the condom bursting. The girl told me not to worry that she wouldn't get pregnant and my heart was at ease. Luckily, I didn't get her pregnant but she infected me with a sexually transmitted infection. I discovered this after I started experiencing some pain while urinating and an abnormal discharge on the tip of my penis which made me rush to a clinic nearby.

My Two Cents

As for the condom burst, I later on learnt from the doctor that maybe it was because I had not put it on well or I had not left enough space at the tip and that could've been one of the reasons. I learnt from experience that day.
