Condoms can prevent HIV

When used correctly every time you have sex, condoms are the best way to prevent HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). 

Here are some basic things you need to consider when using a condom

Check expiration date 

Use the right condom size 

Use a new condom every time you have sex 

Put on a condom before sex when you have an erection

Avoid using an oil-based lubricant, such as Vaseline or baby oil, which can weaken the condom and increase the chances of it splitting. Use water-based lubricants
