Just diagnosed with HIV. What next?

After you have been diagnosed with HIV, it is very important to talk to your health care provider about starting treatment as soon as possible. 

Antiretroviral therapy or ART is the recommended HIV medicine for all people living with HIV. 

ART will help you stay healthy, live longer and reduce the risk of HIV transmission. 

Remember that an HIV diagnosing should not stop you from living a normal and healthy life. 

With the right treatment, diet, lifestyle and positive mind set, you can do the things you want to accomplish in your life, whether it is finishing school, being in a relationship or even having a particular career.
