THINKING ABOUT SEX IS NORMAL!

It is absolutely normal to think about sex often or once in a while during puberty.

There is nothing to be ashamed of.

As you grow, it is normal for you to start being curious about your body or other people’s bodies and wonder what sex feels likes.

You may also start to find certain people attractive and want to have sex with them. This feeling is absolutely normal.

Masturbation is also common and completely normal since it is a natural way of learning about how your body works.

How can I stop thinking about sex if I want to?

It is not possible to completely stop thinking about sex. But if the sex thoughts are distracting you from day to day activities, here are some tips that can help you stop thinking about sex all the time:

  • Try doing physical activities that require a lot of concentration, like sports
  • Keep yourself occupied
  • Understand what triggers you to think about sex. Once you have done that, try avoiding your triggers

Remember that at the end of the day it is highly unlikely that you will be able to completely avoid any and all sexual thoughts and that is okay. Thinking about sex is normal.
