First Time Sex is overrated - Brian 24

My first girlfriend 

In high school, I started dating a girl older than me. I loved it, and it was a pretty big deal for me. However, when we were dating, we didn’t have sex right away. We must have waited two or three months before our first sex (an eternity in the mind of a teen boy). 

Good things come to those who wait 

When I finally got that ‘come over’ text I had been waiting for. I was sure I was about to have mind-blowing sex with my girlfriend. Although I was looking forward to this, I knew nothing could go wrong; I had taken a good shower, sprayed a generous amount of perfume, and was armed with a couple of condoms because you never know. I had also watched an insane amount of pornography in the lead up to this, researched and read, and was convinced I knew exactly what I was doing.

That all changed when we entered her room. The room was quite dark, as only a few candles were lit. Candles were never seen in porn, I reasoned! Was I ready for this? Had anyone else ever experienced this, or was I alone. I was terrified, queasy, and dizzy, and I'm pretty sure I was shaking a little bit ok, maybe a lot. She asked me if I was okay and if I had done this before. I panicked and told her I had had sex once before in eighth grade the same strange lie I told to impress my camp friends. 

After a few uncomfortable (and slightly painful) adjustments to our positions, I was ready to finally have sex. And 30 seconds later, I was finished. That was fast I thought to myself, is that normal? From her facial expressions I knew that she was a little disappointed in the length of my performance to say the least. I was embarrassed about what happened I quickly ran out of  there wearing my clothes as I go. 

My take on my first experience 

I decided to talk to one of my friends about my experience and they were very understanding and validated my experience that it was ok for this to happen. I was happy and relieved. It told myself it was ok to not be a pro the first time around, it was a new experience something I had never done before, next time I’ll be better and the time after I’ll be better. Just like learning to ride a bicycle it will take some time before I don’t fall off.
