"I kept feeling like a failure"

I am Marcus, and life has been tough for me lately. I am 23 years old, married to one wife, and have two children. My kids have been sent away from school several times due to a lack of school fees. One day, I posted on a Facebook platform using a pseudonym that I was feeling very depressed and considering ending my life because I was unable to provide for my family. I knew that nobody would question me as I was using a fake profile. However, I had confided in my friend that I had a pseudonymous account on Facebook and had shared the name with them.

To my surprise, my friend reached out to me and urged me to call 1190 for support. I was hesitant at first, but my friend's words kept ringing in my mind, and I decided to give it a try. The person who answered my call listened to me without judgment and offered me some much-needed support and encouragement.

Talking to someone who understood my pain and struggles made a huge difference. I realized that I was not alone and that there were people who genuinely cared about my well-being. With their help, I was able to find the strength to keep pushing forward and keep fighting for my family. I am grateful to my friend for urging me to seek help and to the support team who listened to me and gave me the courage to keep going.
